Developed in partnership with Conklin Basses, the SIT Strings SR18135L is a purpose-built 7-string bass set designed specifically for extended-range instruments that demand clarity, articulation, and controlled low-end response. This is not a modified standard set, but a custom CNK configuration created to meet the requirements of modern 7-string bass designs.
This Power Steel set uses stainless steel wrap wire combined with an exposed core construction on the lower strings to increase string-to-bridge contact and reduce excess mass at the contact point. The result is improved sustain, more precise intonation, and a tighter, more focused low end, particularly important on extended-range basses.
Manufactured to standard long scale specifications, these strings feature a speaking length of 37.25 inches from the ball end to the taper drop-off. The exposed core section measures approximately 1 7/8 to 2 inches from the ball end to the start of full string diameter, ensuring proper fit and consistent performance on compatible bridges and instruments.
The SR18135L is intended for players who require accuracy, stability, and definition across a wide frequency range, making it well suited for modern extended-range bass applications where precision matters.
