Overall difference of Blue Label vs Black Label strings. Sadowsky's Black Label strings have slightly higher tension and a tighter top and bottom. Their Blue Label strings have slightly lower tension and fuller mids.
The Blue Label is their most comprehensive line of strings: offerings include stainless, nickel, and flatwound, including XL length for 35" scale 5-string basses.

Best Strings for How I play

Posted by Edwin A. Acosta on Jun 23rd 2025

I tend to play hard naturally. So, having good tension is important. These strings get as close to the upright feel I have ever played. And I've tried almost all! The tapered b-string is very convenient for getting all the strings to the height I like! I have them on all my basses!
