Aquila Bionylon® ukulele strings are the first eco-friendly synthetic strings developed for ukulele. Made from rounded, smooth Bionylon® monofilaments, these strings offer excellent acoustic and mechanical properties while reducing environmental impact.
Bionylon® is derived approximately 63% from plant-based materials (castor oil). This formulation reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 50% during polymer synthesis compared with conventional nylon used in many musical strings.
The material produces a warm, mellow tone with good projection and stable tuning characteristics, while maintaining the smooth feel players expect from synthetic ukulele strings.
This 60U (BIO-CLG) set is designed for concert ukulele and features a wound Low G string, providing an extended lower range compared with traditional re-entrant ukulele tuning.
Compatibility: Designed for concert ukulele only. Not suitable for soprano, tenor, or baritone ukulele.
