BLACK BEAUTIES™ colored acoustic guitar strings aren’t just about the sleek and sophisticated look. They feature a phosphor bronze wrap wire on a hex core to maintain brightness and feel. All strings in the set have a jet-black version of DR’s K3™ ultra-hard coating. Players tell us these strings have longer life, more projection, greater clarity, better articulation, and fewer unwanted overtones than uncoated strings.

  • K3™ Coated applied to the wrap wire is extra hard to maintain string brightness while extending life

  • The coating eliminates unwanted overtones, helping projection, clarity and articulation

  • The all-black color creates a modern, aggressive and distinctive look

The Black Beauties are some of our most popular acoustic strings.  Players love the way they sound and feel as much as how they look.
These are ball end strings, black in color, coated phosphor bronze wrapped on a hex core.  Scale length 38".

Not only are they super cool looking, they give more protection against corrosion and perspiration which means longer lasting strings.

Try a set and keep on rockin!

DR Black Beauties Acoustic Guitar Strings

Posted by Robin Duhig on May 27th 2020

DR Strings are just the best. Since I first came across them some years back I have used nothing else. Except a short while back when I bought some new guitars with another leading brand pre-fitted. They didn't feel right and I had to source some DR Black Beauties asap! They sound bright, last ages and just feel completely right under my fingers. Quite simply the best string I have ever experienced. It can be difficult to source these strings at a reasonable price in the UK. However, buying them through Gimmesomestrings.com in the USA meant I got them for around £10 a set. Well worth the price. Never has the phrase "You've tried the rest, now try the best" been more appropriate.
