Thomastik-Infeld RP110 Power Brights Heavy Bottom sets are designed for players who want the flexibility and response of lighter plain strings combined with added low-end authority and stability.
The treble strings are made from highly flexible steel to allow for easy bending and controlled vibrato, with a thin brass coating to help resist corrosion. The wound strings use Thomastik-Infeld’s Magnecore alloy wrap wire over a flexible steel hex core, producing strong output, extended sustain, and a firm low-string response.
Compared to standard Power Bright sets, the Heavy Bottom configuration increases tension and mass on the wound strings, making it well suited for drop tunings, aggressive rhythm playing, and tighter low-end articulation. The result is a bright, direct tone with enhanced harmonic response and a solid feel under the picking hand, while maintaining reduced playing effort relative to conventional high-tension rock sets.
