Another great set of Thomastik's bass strings, this time in round wound & short scale.
Gauges: 42-56-69-93
They are short scale strings, intended for 32" scale length
- This unique sounding string has a construction very similar to it's flatwound counterpart but with slightly more edge.
- The round outer-wrap is a small diameter nickel alloy winding which ads slightly more bite to the upright style tone without the typical roundwound side effects of excessive string squeak and premature fret wear.
- The set is designed with a lower tension and gauging to increase ease of playability and reduce strain on the instrument's neck without sacrificing output.
- Round steel core vibrates freely, with no preferred motion axis
- Small-diameter roundwound nickel windings add presence, without typical roundwound drawbacks of string squeak and premature fret wear
- Unique silk inlay between windings enhances warm, organic tones
- Use this set for 32" scale lengths
- Colored silk-wrapped ends lock windings into place
- Vintage Jazz Bass tones with exceptional sensitivity

Thomastik-Infeld Short Scale Roundwounds JR324
I have been searching for the perfect all around strings for my Music Man Stingray Short Scale Bass. After trying the T-I Flats and them, decided to try the rounds to try to brighten the tone. Well....bingo! Very happy with how these play and sound. Actually bought Gimmesomestrings out!
