DR DDT™ Drop Down Tuning Bass Strings are engineered to stay stable and intonate accurately at very low tunings. They are built around DR’s Accurate Core Technology™ (ACT™), which coats and reinforces the hexagonal core wire to help the stainless steel wrap remain locked in place under reduced tension.
The stainless steel winding delivers a bright, clear, high-output tone while maintaining note definition even when tuned well below standard pitch. Because the wrap is more securely anchored to the core, these strings hold pitch more reliably during aggressive playing, frequent retuning, or extended-range setups.
Designed with a 37-3/4" ball-to-taper length, DDT strings accommodate most modern long-scale basses and provide consistent feel and response across the set. They are intended for players who regularly use drop tunings, alternate tunings, or very low string tensions.
