Thomastik-Infeld JF324 Jazz Nickel Flat Wound Round Core Bass Guitar Strings will give you a legendary sound. Drawn from the upright bass, these bass guitar strings have an outer winding that is made of a special nickel alloy which gives it unsurpassed tone depth and a sound that is hard to find in any other string.
The steel core is wrapped in a silk inlay which makes it very flexible with a depth of tone and high output. This makes the instrument the closest you can get to an upright double bass.
The manufacturers of these strings are tuned in to the constantly changing musical world and apply their knowledge into the technique of building these strings, so you can trust that the Thomastik-Infeld strings are made with the highest quality. Technicians wind and check each string by hand in order to make sure that their tone and quality is 100 percent to your satisfaction.

Thomastik-Infeld Bass Strings
I’ve used these before and really like them. Excellent Quality !

Butter
Absolutely the smoothest feeling flats ever. AND not dead like my other faves, the GHS precision flats. The TIs are not metallic sounding by any means. They have a beautiful mid range thump. So easy to play.

The best flats I’ve tried.
Sound fantastic, very comfortable, and the low tension encourages me to play with less force, which seems to work out nicely. Warning - they are much longer (around 35 inches from ball to silk) than the “short scale” implies, but they are one of a few flats that can wrap around the tuner without breaking. Great customer support from Jason made this a fantastic experience. Looking forward to buying again from Gimmesomestrings.

Thomastik-Infeld Flatwound Bass Strings
I have to start this off by saying that GimmeSomeStrings is doing it right! Great website, GREAT prices and fast dependable delivery. Thank you all for exceptional service! I recently laid out the cash for an all original, immaculate condition 1973 Gibson Les Paul Triumph Bass. Got it, plugged it in, and it just sounded dull and unimpressive. Replaced the strings with several other brands and it sounded better. Until I put a set of Thomastik Flatwounds on, I just didn't have the sound that I was looking for. With this set of strings, I had clarity of the highs, that deep warmth of the lows, and sweetness everywhere in between! Like Jeff said, these strings will make a bass sing!!! You might pay a few dollars more for Thomastik-Infeld, but once you try a set of these you will never go back to the cheap stuff!!!

Thomastik Infeld short scale flat wound bass strings
I already have Thomastik flatwounds on my long scale bass and I think they sound fantastic so I bought this short scale set for my Guild Starfire bass. Other brands of short scale strings sometimes don't fit the Starfire (too short, because the Starfire scale is a little longer than the usual short scale basses) but these fit perfectly and sound fantastic as expected. These strings provide a sound similar to an upright acoustic bass as opposed to the sound of round wounds that sound more metallic.
